I'm just a couple of weeks away from Soccer try-out for high school. And I go a couple times a week with my friends and play penalty shots. I wanted to know some giid exercises, drills, and other things that I can do to improve my skills. I would prefer if they were things that I could do at home alone, but I don't mind if they are things that I can do with my friends.

  1. Ruben,

Penalty shots aren’t really that good of a goalkeeper training session that you really need to work on often. They are good to work on every now and then, but in the scheme of things, pks are a very small part of the goalkeeper position. I am a professional goalkeeper and I have started a website for players like you who are looking for goalkeeper drills and advice. It is free and no registration. For some good drills go to my drills page at http://www.askthegoalkeeper.com/Drills.h... . You can also contact me and ask any questions you have about the goalkeeper position. I use to be like you once searching the web trying to find good drills. If you check out the site please feel free to leave me some feed back of what you think or anything that you would like to see.

  2. PENALTY SHOTS ARE GOOD! TRY PRACTICING GOAL KICKS, GET YOUR ARMS STRONG DOING A LOT OF PUSH UPS AND GET STRONG ABS BY DOING SIT UPS. ALSO TRY SPRINTING YOU WILL NEED IT AND WILL HELP YOUR REFLEXES! GK IS THE BEST POSITION IN SOCCER FOR ME!

  3. just have someone shoot on you

or do something to increase your agility and reaction time
