  4. Assalamu Alaikum,

I  performed my Haj in 1984. It was extremely hot. The day we were going to throw rocks as Shaitans, we were told to carry bottle of water and keep sipping on the way, so we don't dehydrate and callaps to death.  The walk from our tents to the Satan pillars was quite a distance for walking in that heat.  I came out of tent and bought 1 liter bottle for 4 riyals. In normal days it was 2 riyals, but during Haj Saudis were ripping off all Hajis any way they could..  Any way I walked some distance and took may be two sips of water, then a man appeared in front of me with full of sweat and dirty clothes and asked for water.  I handed him the bottle.  He attached the bottle with his mouth and kept drinking until he was full and then forwarded it towards me.  I said keep it.  Then I  walked some distance and bought another liter bottle,  took  some sips out it  and another man asked for water. He did the same thing last one did and I said keep the bottle. I went from America, so I was more heigyne concious.  I bought third bottle and again same some one took it from me. Any I reached to the Saitan pillar, threw rocks at them and came back.  Strangely on my way back no one asked for water.

The day we sent to Mecca for Tawaful Wida (the last Tawaaf before we leave Mecca). Inside Mosque water containers filled with Zam Zam water are placed in every short distance. I completed my Tawaaf and walked towards the area where every Haji does Saee (meaning running from one hill to another  as mother of Ismael did to find water for his infant son   after Prophet Abraham left her alone with her infant on the command of Allah.  There I again had a bottle of water in my hand.  I completed seven rounds between the two hills  and then started going upwards on circular stairs to see how Kaaba looks from the roof.  Stairs are very wide. Some people were sitting on stairs after they got tired of  running seven trips. I  climed the stairs half way,  an old man sitting on stairs raised his hand towards my bottle of water.   Suddenly I got tired of beggers and continued climbing stairs without giving him my bottle.

I walked few stairs  and thought   what if  Allah is testing my patience and went downwards towards that man to give him my water bottle.  I didn't find him..He was older person.  He couldn't have disappeared that soon. I ran all the way dowan looked around but there was no sign of him. Then I set down and started crying that I have failed test of Allah.

It is now  24 years.  When ever I remember that incident,  I tears start flowing from my eyes and cry a lot.  It is happening to me right now while I am writing this.

I wish to go one more time for Haj fearing may be I failed the test of Allah and He didn't accept my Haj. The thought always makes me cry.

May Allh forgive my sins and guide me to the true way of Islam. AM
