What experiences have you had being apart from your significant other for months?

I'm planning to study abroad from mid-January to early June. I'll be leaving the day before my 2-year-anniversary with my boyfriend. Even now I'm dreading being away from him for almost five months. This summer we've only been able to see each other approximately two weekends a month and that has been very hard for me, I don't know how I'll do it for five whole months!

What type of experiences have you had being away from your significant other for extended periods of time, and how did it affect your relationship?

Let me tell you it is NOT easy ! My Husband and I were married in Morocco January 9th and we planned on staying in Morocco but the people I entrusted my house to could not make the payments and we decided to move back to Texas until we get it paid off and fix it up nicely to rent it out . I have been back in Texas for 5 months now and it has been really hard . My husband and I love each other very much and these 5 months apart have been torture ! We call each other everyday and we get on line and see each other on web cam but WOW we really miss each other alot !

It is something you have to take one day at a time and always talk and communicate . Always keep in touch even if it for five minutes . It has not and will not affect our relationship because we will not allow it to . If your love is strong and true , it will survive this and any other hardship that comes along .
