What experiments are different animals used for?

I would think mice for cancer, rats for inteligence tests and rabbits for cosmetics. And it is women who complain most about animal testing!

The majority of animal studies use rodents. There are a variety of genetically modified rodents that mimic diseases as diverse as diabetes to cancer. All animal testing is done to a humane standard in the UK, regulated by the animal welfare act, which treat these animals better than some pets, and even some people. Having said that, I wouldn't want to be one of the animals, but in many cases, these are the best ways we can identify the causes, and hence work out the treatment, for many disease.

All new chemicals, mindicine, shampoo, makeup, household cleaning agents, ect... are tested on animals before they are put on the market for humans!

Pharmaceutical industry uses millions of animals, mostly mice, rats, monkeys, cat, dogs, ect...

Most all of these test-animals die within the testing period!

There is colossal abuse of animals in laboratories!

Experiments in surgical skill, study behaviour of animals who they induced with pain-stress-shock-fear, ect...

" Sensory deprivation tests", in which animals have sense organs like eyes or ears taken out so to see how they behave without them!

Many of these experiments on animals are useless because they cannot be extrapolated to human beings!?

Different species differ in their basic metabolism, therefore experiments valid for one species are not necessarily valid for another species!?

Animals are the worst victims to modern materialistic civilization!

The animals suffer horrifying painful experiences in laboratories!
