The Chinese River Dolphin. (Baiji Dolphin) - Extinct in 2007

Because: Baiji dolphins lived and flourished in the Yangtze for more than 19 million years before humans arrived on the scene.

It shows how mankind is destroying creatures today, as we speak - creatures are becoming endangered/extinct at an alarming rate. We don't care, we want more things, so we destroy nature.

Don't look at the dinosaur or the dodo, let's stop the killing now, before we lose so many more beautiful creatures.

The river dolphin, the finless porpoise, and the Chinese sturgeon, have all been made extinct from the Yangtze River in recent years, due to deterioration and loss of their natural habitats, overfishing of the river, the heavy freight ship traffic.

The dodo.  I don't know why, but I've always felt the worst about this animal going extinct.  It just looks so... helpless.  I have to feel bad for it.
