  1. Bioflavonoids are water-soluble plant pigments with medicinal (anti-inflammitory & antioxidant) properties.  The best AND SAFEST method for YOU to use is to boil some water and add your tea leaves, let cool and drink (I assume you intend to ingest these bioflavanoids).

    The method I used at UC Davis was as follows.  (Disclaimer: Do not do this if you intend to ingest the bioflavonoids.)  

    High Yield extraction technique.

    Take 50:50 Methanol:Water solution.  Add to this your plant material (10:1 W:W methanol:plant material).  Bake (in sealed container) at 60 degrees Celsius for 24 hours.  Remove from oven, cool the mixture, remove the plant material, evaporate methanol:water mixture in a rotary evaporator.  

    The resultant powder will contain the bioflavinoids.
