I have the beginning of a corneal ulcer. Opthalmologist gave me one drop a pupil dilator, saying it would help relieve the scratchy, burning feeling. He said my pupil would be dilated for two days.

I ended up falling into a deep sleep from 8 AM-5 PM, not even hearing the phone ring, after a full night of sleep!

What could this eyedrop have been?

The pupil dilator he has given me in the past does not relieve symptoms, lasts only a couple of hours and doesn't knock me out cold all day.

  1. this could have been a cycloplegic drop, it will dilate the pupil for a couple of days and it also has medication in it that will make u sleepy.  or it could have been a drop of atropine (which i doubt) it to will dilate the pupil several days, he probably didnt give it because of a ulcer but maybe he was worried about iritis????
