  1. There are a number of drugs that work to combat glaucoma, mainly by reducing the pressure in the eye by reducing production of fluid and also by allowing excess fluid to drain better. Beta blocking drugs reduce the production of eye fluid: betaxolol, carteolol, levobunolol, metipranolol, timolol.

Sympathomimetic drugs block fluid production and increase out flow: brimonidine, apraclonidine, dipivefrine.

Miotics open up the drainage channels in the eye: pilocarpine.

Prostaglandin analogues increase outflow and reduce pressure: Latanoprost, travoprost, bimatoprost.

Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors also reduce fluid production in the eye: acetazolamide, brinzolamide, and dorzolamide.

    Hope this helps. Link below.

  2. EMMA C and Arwen seem pretty dead on. there are many drugs out there that are used to treat Glaucoma. If the drugs dont work...there are other procedures that can be one to help treat it :)

  3. Emma C has given you a wide range, but there are some others out there as well they are; timoptol travatan and duotrav. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
