What face wash do you suggest?

I use to have bad acne, and I tried all sorts of face wash products to no avail. I finally purchased ProActive, which worked wonders. But after my supply ran out, I never got around to getting any more.

Now a year later, my face is relatively clear, with no maintenance at all. I still have a couple small zits, once in awhile. When we were in the mall, I told my mom I was going to buy more ProActive, but she said it would be a waste of money, that I don't need it. She said that washing my face everyday would probably get rid of the small problems.

So I was curious. What face wash do you recommend, and why?

  1. my fave is the clean and clear advantage kit. it was like 17 dollars in ulta, there are 3 steps to the kit. the first is a weird cleander that looks like vanilla icing(ew =[ ) it didn''t work too well, the second it a mouistrizer witch i absolutly love because it doesnt take alot to do your whole face and it doensnt leave you with that shine =] the last step is a spot treatment, and i used it when i woke up the morning of my sweet sixteen with a huge icky monster godzilla zit on my head and within 3 hours it was gone. but i wouldnt reccomend useing it on your entire face because then the product won't work as well over time. also oxy cleaning pads and seabreeze toner and neutrogena oil free face wash work really well too =]

    hope this was helpful!!! =]

  2. a l'oreal face wash would be fine for you as it will take care of the regular  wear and tear of your face and make it radiant and smooth. i use it even though i don't have any pimples or acne.

  3. There are many face wash products in the market--Excessive oily secretion from your subcuta-gland under the skin layer-causes acne, pimples etc on your face---My suggestion is--wash your face with non-allergic soap, atleast thrice daily-morning-noon and evening.Take healthy and nutritious diet and drink sufficient water.Cleanliness is the key to avoid such problem. The last advice but not the least--consult with a skin-specialist who will give you proper advice.

  5. i like the face wash by dermologica

because i really feel that it has stuff in it that helps to prevent acne, not just wash your face. my dermatologist recommended it to me, and you can buy it at beauty stores. i would recommend their whole line as well, including their masks and exfoliation stuff

  6. Well, I'm not sure what type of skin you have, but I know what works for me. I have extremely sensitive skin. Everybody on here is recommending Neutrogena and Clean & Clear, and really I'm sure they are quite lovely products for those who can actually use them, but for me, they make my face break out and turn all red and gross and blotchy and ughhh! Not very attractive, at all. Yeah, sure those products work on all skin types...except mine! Haha.

So I use this product called Cetaphil. You can find it in any drug store in the face wash section next to all the other products. I use their Daily Facial Cleanser. They also have soaps, skin cleansers, makeup removal products, lotions, moisturizing creams, sun lotions, etc. I haven't bought it a while (one container can last me a looong time) but from what I remember it can be on the expensive side, so I'd only buy it if you actually have sensitive skin and need it. I would not say that I have bad acne, I only use Cetaphil for the sensitivity purposes. Also, Cetaphil is not even marketed as an acne treatment line, only a product for those with sensitive skin. So you have to judge what is right for you.

    Just letting ya know :)

  7. I use Acne Free. It is the cheaper brand of proactive..they have the same ingredients. You can pick it up at target.

  8. ProActive never helped me, and i had pretty bad acne as well.

after goin to a dermatologist, they had me on cetaphil face wash

its an ok product. didnt work out that well for me

  9. clean and clear

  10. For me personally, I use Clean And Clear Continuous Control Acne Wash (you can find it at your local drug store, or grocery store). I HIGHLY recommend it, because it treats any kind of skin type, and the name says it all - It definitely continues to keep away acne, even if you just have a few blemishes. It's oil-free too, so it leaves your skin feeling nice and refreshed. Why I use it? I saw it in a magazine, and decided to try it, because it has Salecilic Acid in it, a very strong, but non-harmful treatment to get rid of acne. So, I tried it, and I love it :)

    Hope I helped!

  11. Salutations,

I generally use St. Ives Foaming face wash, and every now and then the Apricot scub. but you do not want to use the scrub every day, as it can be irritating. also as you and your skin age, you might find the level of oil in your skin lowers a bit. though I personally have always had an oily forehead and scalp, but very little acne after the age of 22. but everyone is different, what works for me might not work for you. I hope it does if you try it. Good luck. Cheers

  12. It depends on what type of skin you have. You seem to have oily skin so I would suggest , obviously, face wash not so oily. Also I've heard stories that ProActive only works if you use it constantly, which means it is only cleaning the top of your skin and not necessarily inside your pores. This is why if you stop using ProActive chances are that you will start breaking out again.

I'd say anything that has the foam dispenser... those are good for clearing pores. Neutrogena Possibly?

  13. Anything by nutregina! They're light affordable, and work fast. If you want something like proactive, Nutregena has a new brand like it for half the price! My friend used both and thought the Nutregena was actually better! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
