  1. The Vatican has a wonderful art collection and library.

  2. What do you mean with facilities?

Do you mean public services? transportations:

we have the same as in the USA. Health care is included in taxes, such as most of schooling (we pay a small tax and buy books) so we don't need insurance.

After a little more than 35 years working or when you are 65, you get a retirement fee from a government pension fund.

Company must pay taxes on your income from employment, so if you have not different sources of income, you don't need to file for taxes or to pay them directly. Taxes are higher than in the USA, but also the level of services provided by the state.

We have schools and universities (some of them are between the best in Europe), generally good hospitals , public libraries (including multimedia) some of them , like Ambrosiana in Milan, or Lateranensis in Vatican, have  extremely rare documents.

We have a good network of transportation (airports, railway, sea and lake ferries, highways) and we produce cars (Fiat, but also Ferrari and Lamborghini) and motorbikes (Ducati and other)

Facilities at  home include all the same appliances you have n the USA, including often plasma TV and sound system, a PC and one or more mobile phones. Often a broadband connection with internet and a satellite antenna (or a cable tv)

You will often find a difference in the bathroom: as in France , aside batthube, shower  and toilet and sink (often the tap/sink is in a different room) we have a bidet, a special sink to wash your lower parts.

We have hot water  made by gas or electric water heaters, and , more and more often, by solar (photovoltaic) panels
