There are a broad range of natural and human factors that affect the climate in a particular area of the globe. This is, of course, the challenge behind scientifically addressing the question of global warming and / or global cooling: what are the variables to be measured, if we could measure them, and how should we model them with multivariate statistics, etc.? I realize that I didn't answer your question, but perhaps I offered some clarification...
