Torro Rosso is getting better, why have not they got a buyer yet? Did Vijay Mallya make mistake in buying Spyker, had he waited a little, he could have bidded for Torro Rosso ?

  1. Red Bull (RBR) and Toro Rosso(TR) have engines of Ferrari and Renault. These engines are somewhat better than the Ferrari engines behind the Force India team. More over, RBR and TR have better funds than Force India and this directly leads to better investment in research and development of new aero dynamic settings.

  2. Adrian Neweydesigns a very aerodynamicly stable car, and there has been a lot of technical feedback from Coulthard, which aids development.

  3. How come nobody listed the most obvious answer?

They drink Red Bull of course!

  4. David Coulthard's networking skills are the major factor in RB's improvement this year. He was largely responsible for the recruitment of their design and technical staff, especially the arrival of Adrian Newey.

Toro Rosso are doing well because they have the Ferrari engine and a good prospect in Sebastian Vettel.

Mallya bought what was available at the time. With the drivers and staff he has recruited so far, he wouldn't be doing any better if he had bought TR instead...he may have a lot of money, but he really doesn't seem to know very much about F1 and he's too hands-on for someone with so little knowledge. He's a marked contrast to Dieter Mateschitz at Red Bull, who has trusted the opinion of people with more experience of F1 and has backed that trust with the necessary funds.

  5. Vijay Mallya is a business man, he is expecting results from his F1 team. if you ever heard of the IPL
