What factors contributed to Cuba going Communist?

  1. that the ussr set up missiles in cuba (nuclear) that were easily able to target washington in seconds.  

    i duno why they were communist though obviously to do with ussr and ww2.


  2. The US wanted the (new) goverment of Fidel Castro to be a puppet goverment in favor of the US goverment like his predecessor Batista. Castro didn't accept the US conditions and nationalized all US property when the US threatened to invade Cuba , Castro turned to the former Soviet Union for help what ended in the Cuban missile crisis. One of the important factors was the US refusal to negotiate on equal terms with Cuba. The original revolution wasn't a communist revolution but rather an new indepandance war one of the many that happened before in Cuba.

  3. The explotation of the people by American companies and the poverty that resulted.

    The corrupt government (propped up by american adminisrations)and  taking massive bribes from the american mafia.

    Peopl were suffering while millions of dollars were shipped out the country.
