  1. As a referee, I know the procedure. What happens is after each round, Robert and Bill Harrigan sit down with each referee and go through their games and their calls. They appoint referees to matches through the following criteria:

    -Number of NRL games

    -Quality of last match

    -The teams playing

    -The ground

    -Fitness

  2. He picks them if he knows they haven't visited there optometrist that week

  3. always favour the home teams

  4. Sometimes I think he sticks a pin in the list with his eyes closed! I don't know what the criteria would be, but I guess he would leave out any referee who has been involved in any controversy with a particular team and appoint the best man for that particular game. But it must be getting hard to find a good one these days.

  5. Which club has given him the biggest backhander

  6. the match of the round its all ways the best ref which is last years grand final ref

  7. A ref that would please the home team's fans.  Some teams do get a preference sometimes I think, especially when they lose regularly under a certain ref.
