  1. How much money I have now

How long I expect to have the vehicle

    What insurance costs

What repair and upkeep costs, vs warranty

    Mileage and other amenities

Where the car has been (which is why I buy new)

    CARFAX history

  2. First should be your budget. Are you a $6000 car girl or a $35000 car kind of girl. The question is a little vague. I will tell you that you can steal a large SUV right now. Like a 1 year old Tahoe for half of what it sold for new. At the same time if you are looking for a small or mid-size car you may have to pay alot more than usual. You can save alot of money by buying a 2-3 year old car with 30-40 k miles. i would say your best bet is the 2-3 year old domestic gas sipper. Pontiac G6 or Chevrolet Malibu. The imports are bringing crazy money right now and hard to find. Good luck!!!!

  3. The moment you buy a new car and drive it off the lot, it loses value.  That's one bad item.  If you get a good used car, you save money.

  4. Buy a car that is about 2 years old. Pick one with low mileage. Let someone else loose the vast depreciation from new

  5. I guess you should also check insurance quotes for the car before buying one, for example here: http://autoinsurance.maclenet.com
