What factors should I consider when choosing my first Intermediate windsurfing board and rig?

  2. #1 The board width!  Too narrow and you will have travel staying up.

    #2  The sail size!  Too big and you will have trouble in high winds.

    Try and get a demo ride on a few different boards.

  3. By intermediate I am asuming that you have had several lessons on big beginer kit and are now looking to get some kit to progress on. Firstly go for a board between 130 and 160 litres depending on your weight (more weight more volume) and 75 to 80cm wide. I would recomend getting a couple of sails 5.5 and 6.5 or there abouts to give you more time on water. Get the best mast you can as this will make the rig feel lighter ie high carbon content. And finaly don't scrimp on the mast base and extention as these are vital as it's what conects your board and rig so don't buy second hand. www.boards.co.uk for further advice.
