  1. Given the choice of a $2 quinella or a $1 exacta box, I would choose the exacta box and hope that the horse with the highest odds finishes first.

  2. You will be picking 2 dogs, or horses, for a quinella you have a greater chance of winning because if you play a 4, 6 quinella the horses can either come in first and second either 4,6 or 6,4 if it was an exacta they must come in 4,6. An exacta pays more but quinella give you more chances to win.

  3. a quinella is a automated box..you play 1/2...if it

comes 2/1 you still win....if you can't afford a exacta box you play a quinella. a $2.00 3 horse quinella box will cost you only $6.00 as a $2.00 exacta box will run you $12.00.

  4. When you bet on the Quinella, or Quinella Box, you are betting on two specific horses to cross the finish line in first and second place, in any order. These are similar types of wagers to the Exacta or Perfecta Box type wagers. One of the main differences is that various racetracks which offer Quinella or Quinella Box wagers, will pool the action separately from their Exacta, or Perfecta Box pool.

Also, the Quinella wager is a single wager. In effect, the amount you wager is the total amount of the wager. You may choose three or more horses in a Quinella Box to increase your chances of picking two horses to finish first and second. If your selections win, you will receive the payoff amount opposite the words Quinella, or Quinella Box, as shown on the racetrack board.

Boxing an exacta doubles your wager - but not your return
