  1. No families own the country.   Maybe you'd like to restate the question

  2. Own? Simple Answer:

    (Kinda rascist)

    Whites

No families own Mexico, Slim is the richest by far, but most whites here on Mexico own almost everything, the social classes hasnt change, its the same as 400 years ago.

  3. My country is not owned by some families; but there are some rich known families, just as happens at any other country in the world:

Carlos Slim Helú and its family (the richest mexican), Garza Sada family from Monterrey, Azcárraga family (televisa owners), Salinas Pliego family (TV azteca, elektra, Azteca Bank), Serbitje family (Bimbo and Marinela owners), and some others.

  4. You can't own a country

  5. Mexico isn't a feudal state BTW, no family as such "owns" the company.

However, the Cardenas family owns an inane amount of land in the state of Michoacán. The state is just a huge question mark of uninhabited territory because it all belongs to just a small group of people. Why haven't the indians backfired and demanded the land to be returned to them.. who knows.

  6. Certainly Mr Slim is the richest men in Mexico by far, but there are lots of businessmen and entreprenueral families down here in Mexico....

The owners of Televisa, TV Azteca, Femsa, Cemex, Vitro, and other Mexican Multinational Companies are among the most recognized and wealthier families in the country.

  7. Carlos Slim Helú (born January 28, 1940) is a Mexican businessman largely focused on the telecommunications industry. He is the second richest man in the world with a net worth of around U.S. $60 billion through his holdings.[1]

Slim has a substantial influence over the telecommunications industry in Mexico and much of Latin America as well. He controls Teléfonos de México (Telmex), Telcel and América Móvil companies. Though he maintains an active involvement in his companies, his three sons Carlos Slim Domit, Marco Antonio Slim Domit and Patrick Slim Domit head them on a day-to-day basis.
