  1. Darley Stud is a thoroughbred breeding operation owned by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and vice-president of the United Arab Emirates. Darley breeds horses in the United States, Japan, Australia, and in Europe.

he's not famous like brittney spears famous, but he is 1 of the richest men in the world!

  2. Merv Griffin had a Derby contender last year.

  3. Toby Keith owns race horses.  He has about 20 or more horses at various race tracks through out the US all being trained by various trainers.  He owns Dream Walkin' Farm as well.  I've watched some of his horses run in Iowa and Illinois.

  4. The prince of United Arab Emirates, King of Saudi Arabia.  (seen it on Yahoo! news after the Derby)

  5. Chef Bobby Flay owns horses, he just bought a yearling at Saratoga for $500,000.

I'm not sure who qualifies as a celebrity-- as someone mentioned, the Maktoums of Dubai, the ruling family there, own a lot of horses and horse-related businesses.  Bob McNair, owner of the NFL Houston Texans, used to own about 300 horses and Stonerside Stables, but he just sold lock, stock and barrel to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Darley.  George Steinbrenner, owner of the NY Yankees baseball team, owns horses.  Other celebrity horse owners include Mark McGrath (lead singer of Sugar Ray), Gary Barber (producer of "The Sixth Sense"), Alex Trebek (host of "Jeopardy"), Don Johnson (star of "Nash Bridges"), David E. Kelley (award-winning producer and creator of "Ally McBeal" and "The Practice"), Herb Alpert (six-time Grammy award-winning musician), Burt Bacharach (internationally acclaimed singer, composer, producer and conductor), David Milch (writer and executive producer of "NYPD Blue") and brothers Michael and Roger King of King World Productions, distributor of "Wheel of Fortune", "Jeopardy!" and "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

    T. Boone Pickens, who is currently making a splash with his TV commercials touting alternate energy sources, might just end up being a horse owner.  He recently married Madeleine Paulson, widow of the the late Alan Paulson, who owned Cigar and a bunch of other champions and stakes winners.  Madeleine still owns a few horses.

  6. Diddy! I see him a lot at Hollywood Park where the stabels are
