What features would a world designed by you have?

I spend a lot of time creating worlds for fun and for stories I tell. =)  

My favorite world is larger than this planet and the blocks of land is divided by great oceans that's difficult and sometimes impossible to cross with ships. While I have taken the though of different climate zones from earth I have made them larger and in some cases more extreme. I've also added plants and animals that I think should exist for one reason or the other.

The landmasses are divided into different zones with different kinds of flora and fauna, so that an area known for a certain kind of tree will also have certain kinds of animals living there that you can't find else where.  There is also differences in the people that live in different areas. Just as it is here on earth. The sky is clear since there is no pollution and the stars shine bright during the nights. There are one sun, a bright star that shines day and night and there are three moons in different sizes. Since the moons creates the tide they are also the reason why it's so hard to travel the oceans.

Since I'm the creator I've also added magic into the world. It's really not that strange in many cases, just science doing the tricks that people in that world don't have the knowledge about, but now and then it's true magic too. I'm a fantasy and sci-fi fan and I have made different kinds of people that fit into some of the categories that I like. the trolls is not trolls from the fairy-tales but a kind of people, so is the elves that's very human but still have the traits of elves too. I've also added more fantasy like creatures. The thought is that we don't know the difference between intelligent animals and not here on earth since we can't communicate with them. In my world there are ways of communication that sorts that out.

Huge mountain ranges also divide the lands, some of them volcanic, as I need to divide the people in that world so that their cultures and ethnic differences can bloom. Some kinds are totally isolated while others have sporadic contacts with others and yet others live close by and in some cases in multicultural areas.

Religion and moral values are specific to each group of people and fits with the kind of life they live and in what area. While those that live in the more arctic places worship the sun those that live in the deserts most often worship the moon and so on.

The most supernatural is "the shining" a cosmic dust that shines very bright as it rains down on a selected area. It's almost like a comet shower but less devastating. It doesn't happen often and almost never in the same area as the time before. I use it in my story telling to mark significant events just as solar eclipses often marks important events here on earth.
