  2. I believe Political Science with a minor in languages would work. An old friend of my went that route to become a diplomat.

  3. Foreign Affairs and/or

    History (American/World)

To take the test, know world geography well

  4. Maybe Polical Science, Philosophy, Law, Ethics, etc.

  5. History ,and / or Political Science or Geography .

  6. How about Political Science, Philosophy, and a little bit of Geography?

  7. Political science and international law.

  8. Ethics.

  9. Everyone here is right, more or less. If you want to be a diplomat, you need to know at least a bit of everything. There really is no one path, but you need to have an active interest in the world, both past and present, so history and political science are very helpful, but there's very little that has no value. People manage to pass the test with a wide variety of degrees. I know one person who has a degree in Theatre. I don't know that I would normally recommend that particular path, but it didn't stop him. You need to keep up in current events, and try to get some idea of why things happen, not just what happened. Read lots of newspapers. Languages are very helpful as well, especially the more difficult ones. Plus, these days you get extra brownie points if you already have hard language skills.
