Question:

What figure skates should I get?

The rink's pro shop just closed, and far as I know there's only one other extremely inaccessible skating shop in the whole little country, so I'm kinda stuck for answers. In the meanwhile, is it advisable to buy skates online?

Technically I'm around Freestyle 1, ISI, and I was wondering if Riedell skates would be suitable. I've never managed to own skates before, and I've no idea whether I should get something in the range of Bronze Medallion 280 or something higher.

So what dyou think? Thanks ever so much :)

  1. the riedell bronze medallion seem fine for your level thats the type of skate i started with and they lasted 2 years wich is a really long skate life

  2. i dont no much about different types of skates but i no that i had reidells and i HATED them. i tried graphs but they made my feel feel to bulky for comfort.

i use sp teris. they are amazing. once u get those, u cant go back.

try looking on ebay and ull get some good deals on slightly used skates or even new. another place u might wanna look is "pro skate" i think they have a website as well.

just dont trust them to sharpen figure skating blades.

they messed up mine, my moms, and my friends. so be careful.

    hope i helped.

  3. I have jackson freestyles. those should last you until freestyle 5 so i highly recomend them. They are about 250 dollars. They take about 4 or 5 days to break into them. good luck on the skate find!!!

  4. Reidells are ok but since you are more advanced, I think Jackson Intermediates would be better...

  5. well i suggest that you dont buy any of the medallion series skates cuz they are for beginners and you say your a freestyle 1 level skater.so i say buy any of the star series skates cuz they are like for freestyle skaters. and i also suggest that you buy any skates that are atleast 3 or 4 more levels more than your current level . and you say your a freestyle 1 skater so i just say buy any of those. well its not the best to buy online but if its the only choice then its kinda fine. but just remember that you type in the correct size.(and those are actually for riedells.......)
