  3. 1. MENUDO

    2. CALDARETA

COULD BE EITHER ONE. USING BEEF & JUST ADDING HOT DOG SLICES TO IT, I'M FILIPINO TOO & MANY DISHES THATS WAS TRADITIONALLY COOKED THEY'RE STARTING TO ADD HOT DOGS TO MANY MAIN DISHES ITS JUST A FAD, SUCH AS FILIPINO SPAGETTHI W/HOT DOGS.

  4. it sounds like Caldereta or possibly Menudo...but you have to understand that not only each province or area has their own version of a recipe...each family will also have their own way to cook it.  So, for some the Menudo contains liver chunks...and for others it does not.  Sometimes Caldereta has hot dog pieces in it, sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes it's just made from what is nearby.  It could be spicy made one way, it could be salty made another way, or perhaps somebody makes it really greasy....it all depends on the chef.

To get a 'standard' sort of way of making it, check out your local filipino store and get the Mama Sita Caldereta Mix...it has a basic recipe on how to make it on the back.  Then you just add hot dog pieces or whatever you want.  I once added in some green thai dragon peppers just to see what it was like, all chopped up really small...wow, was that stew HOT!!! but it still was delicious!

    hahaha
