  1. 10 gallon, if you want cold water go for white cloud mountain minnows. this tank is not big enough for even 1 goldfish, a goldfish needs a minimum 55 gallons when full grown. use gravel or sand on the bottom, get a small filter, and a heater if you wish to go tropical, either get a few fake plants or a few real ones if you have lighting in your hood. there are many possibilities if you go tropical, neons, cardinals, guppies, endlers, possibly a dwarf gourami, the list goes on. the 1 gallon fish bowl is useful for....nothing! fish bowls, especially that small, shouldnt be used for housing any living creature, well,i suppose a snail would be ok! bettas, even if you did want one, need minimum 2 gallons, and need a filter too, which you would doubtfully fit into a 1 gallon bowl.

  2. For a 10 gal I would go with tropicals. Goldfish needs a minimum of 10gals per fancy and 20gals per common.

If you get ONE goldfish, avoid gravel. It can harbor really bad bacteria and they can pick it up and choke on it. I use aqua gems and river stones in my goldfish tanks. I also have live plants, this provides extra oxygen.

With bettas you can use sand. I've heard they like it. But gravel works also.

You can get guppies. The Males are bightly colored and very active. There are also neon tetras, but they need to be in schools of 6 or more. My brother has a 10g trop tank with 3 guppies, a female betta, and neons. They do really well and get along pretty good.

I would avoid getting a pleco (sucker fish) they need a min of 125gal or they can die due to a condition called stunting. It's where their skeleton stops growing, but their organs continue to until the fish dies. It's very miserable.

as far as a 1gal fish bowl... nothing. That's even small for a betta, really.

  3. for the bowl maby 1 guppy or a shrimp or snail

for the 10 gallon i would use

    back sand

    live plants

    a filter

    and 6 zebra danios

    or 6 mountain minnows (

  4. Well for your 10 gallon, you should try just different varieties of tetras. Mabe get a couple because they will grow a little while in the tank. You will probably also want a sucker fish. Plastic plants are usually better than live because they are less dirty and can look just as good. You shouldn't get goldfish though because they are pretty dirty fish. I don't really know what to tell you about the 1 gal bowl though. Also it usually looks nice when you have 1 big prop in your tank, like mine is a little colleseum or a couple of smaller ones. Your going to need a filter and heater though, which aren't too exspensive. Well, I think that's pretty much it...Good luck!

  5. For the 1 gallon nothing but flowers, it's not suitable for fish.

For the 10 gallon see this article

If I had your tank I would have something like:

Planted with things like vallis, bogwood decor with anubias and java fern.

A male/female pair of honey gouramis, 5 male endlers livebearers and 5 corydoras habrosus on a sand substrate.

Don't forget to cycle the tank beforehand!
