  1. that is fine but a few would do

  2. Yes, neons and guppies are the sort of fish that will work in a 10 gal tank. You can probably build up to about 10 small fish like that.

I sugggest you add some guppies first and let the tank become etablished and stable, then add some neon tetras later.

Dont just dump 10 fish in there the first day, that number will overwhelm the filtration to begin with. But after a month or so the tank will be properly established and able to support a full population of fish.

  3. I just gave this answer to someone else.. With a 10 gallon tank you should use the rule of thumb "for every gallon of water, one inch of fish." Basically you have 10 inches to fill up with fish. Some small fish that are usually easy to care for are guppies which get approx 2.5" (be careful these are livebearers and could overpopulate your tank--I'd suggest all males because they are prettier and you don't need to worry about them mating). Neon tetras and glowlight tetras also stay small only getting a max of 1.5". You should note however that tetras are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least 5 and that two different types/species of tetras won't school together. Some catfish you could consider are the corydoras catfish which gets to be 2" but prefers to be kept in groups of 2-3. The Otocinclus or "Otto cat" eats primarily algae and stays 1-2". I hear these are hard to keep alive sometimes especially if you run out of algae because their diet can't be supplemented with algae wafers. These are all nice community fish.. hope this helps ;)

  4. i have 3 black skirt tetras and 5 zebra danios in a a ten gallon but i would get for 4 of each unstead or do 5 neon and 5 guppies

  5. Absolutely! Use the method, 1 fish per 2 inches. If you have a 10 gallon, only put a maximum of 5 fish because 5*2=10. Although, you would probably be ok with up to 8 fish. In my 10 gallon tank I have 7 fish, and they are all doing great! I have 2 guppies, 2 platies, and 2 mollies. You might also consider purchasing an algae eater. They eat all excess food that floats to the bottom and they as well, of course, eat the algae on the sides of the tank! Hope this helps! Good Luck!

  6. yes u can. i would say put a maximum of 12 fish in there and no more because the nitrates build up if there is too many and it will be really hard for you to keep doing water changes and stuff. alot of my fish died from this because i didint know that and i have a 10 gallon and i had like 17 fish in it. alot died due to this and i would say about 12 fish would be good. and as for neons with guppy i have neons and guppies in my tank together and they dont fight or get bullied they get along perfectly

  7. Yeah, those fish will be fine. The rule of thumb is an inch of fish to gallon of water. Just remember that after you add gravel and decorations the water volume will be less than ten gallons. Is your tank filtered? If not, you definitely need to get a filter. You could keep a betta in there.

  8. no no no no dont put neon with guppies.neon tetras will eat the guppies fins.you can put like 12 or less in the tank.
