I have a 40 gallon tank, and I want to get a Black Ghost Knifefish. I heard that they can be agressive with smaller fish, so what other fish can I put with it?

(I will move the Ghost fish into a 60 gallon tank later)

  1. You can pretty much put Black Ghost Knifefish with any fish too large to fit in its (oversized) mouth, and that isn't known to be agressive or nip fins. Something like Congo Tetras, Ropefish, Swordtails, Gouramis, Ram Cichlids, etc. Don't forget to add a hiding place for this fish. Black Ghosts are very slow-growing, long-lived fish, so be prepared for a long commitment if you take care of it properly.

  2. idk really

  3. I have kept black ghost for over 5 years and achieved breeding them(MY SECRET dont ask) black ghosts. After 5 inches can turn into real menaces in the tank if not fed well i.e you will see missing eyes, open stomachs on other fish. My black ghost is challenging my 9 inch parrot fish to duels all the time. I would keep them with larger more semi-aggresive cichlids. A very tricky fish to work with.............
