  1. Just had to add my 2 cents after I saw E7 use the term grinnel. Not since I moved from E Tx years ago have I heard that! Anyway, what he said. Also, there are some monster flathead(yellow cats) and blue cats in that lake. Hook one of them and you're in for a ride. Have fun & catch a mess.

  2. It's known as one of the best Bass lakes in the country. Loads of Crappie, Catfish, Bluegill (and other sunfish species), Drum (freshwater), Grinnel (Bowfin), Gar, Carp...(most any freshwater species you expect to find in a Southern reservoir)...etc. This lake is very large, be prepared for East Texas weather, notorius for fast moving storms often accompanied by high winds, rough water, lightning, etc.

If you would like a little more detailed answer look at the TX parks and wildlife webpage:

Here is a more complete list of the various fish found in this amazing lake:

  3. Congratulations to your uncle! He now has a cabin on one of the best fishing lakes in the US.It is well noted for it's population of almost all the different varieties of game fish. Bass, crappie, stripers.bream, catfish, bar fish, etc. Get him to take you fishing!
