Well I have a 20 gallon with 13 inches of fish in it. (Full for me) Uh, I also have a tank like 10 gallons with no filter, is it possible to have baby guppies in there without a filter? Also can you list all the fish besides gold fish and beta that you know can withstand without a filter? Uh I have a optional question, do turtiles, like small water turtles need large tanks?

  1. All fish do better with a filter.

If you just want to raise some baby guppies all you need is a simple air powered sponge filter, it will only cost a few dollars and will provide enough filtration and water circulation for a few small fish.

  2. Try catfish, Haroun, and other fish that live in bay and swampy area.

  3. Any type of fish needs a filtration system ( needless to what you have heard about fish not needing them, pet stores will tell you anything to get you to buy from them ), for a ten gallon, the system only would cost $10. Water turtles don't stay small, they would need a long tank and some kind of reef so they can come out of the water when they need to.

  4. Most fishes need filtration, but the betta doesn'tt need any filtration .

They can live in small tanks, but just be careful if they live in a small tank for two long they might over stress and sometimes even die .

    Betta are awesome :

    - easy to take care of

    - cheap

    - and they're beautiful
