  1. Love to give you a solid answer, but so you mean concrete foundation and wood floor.......normally you don't have crawl area's under slabs.........but.........maybe so.........anyway...  you have carpets........hardwoods .......and tile.......I like them all........everyone wants hardwoods again.....sooooooo........I just helped my son do his kitchen and family room in tile and put granite tile on his counters at the same time. His looks nice.......I'm at the age where I like warm feet.....so I'm sticking to carpet........I've learned the hard way.........my wife and I put tile in out kitchen........she loves it.......for me it's cold in the winter.......but........I'm going to guess by the sound of your typewriter that your going to lean to hardwood.....with some throw carpets........I have a friend that went all round the out side and travel areas with tile....and then added rectangles and squares filled with carpets. And it looks very very nice. And you could do tile in kitchen and din.......hardwood in living and halls and carpet in bedrooms...people say no,,,,,,,but i say yes....just plan it well.

  2. decorative stamped concrete overlay....comes in all fashions ranging from random rock, brick, slate, wood grain.....etc

  3. Its going to be alot of moisture in that area so if you do decide would make sure its treated and you get a termite seal to surround and help the house..the slab will protect you but stuff happens..I say this because i always think Hardwood is the best option if within means.

  4. Ceramic tile . . .like Satillo tile. . .for durability.  Vinyl tile will eventually "tear up", hardwood floors get the bejeezus scratched out of them, and carpeting will wear-out!  Besides. . .nothing is better than being able to get out a "rag" mop and just CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN with good 'ole water.

  5. Cork. Humidity has no effect on cork.

  6. I'd go for ceramic tile or hardwood laminate with throw rugs.
