I remember these growing in my hometown in Russia -they grow on a tree and called cepeнь in Russian. Here is a picture

  1. It is a Common Lilac (in Italian :Serenella - similar to Russian- or Lilla'; in French: Lilac)

    Scientific name Syringa Vulgaris, family Oleaceae

  5. The flower in the photograph is a lilac flower....lilac bushes come in white,  at least two shades of "lilac" , in pink and yellow.....they are always wonderfully fragrant,  their oil is used in perfumery and in household products (air fresheners,  etc)..
