Have you seen the medal winners give there flowers away to a lucky member of the croud? They can do that because of there country's laws, which prohibits them to bring back plants. So to answer your question, Yes they are real, because what fun would it be to be presented with fake flowers after winning? I can tell you at each olympics they have diffrent flowers, which sadly, i dont know what they are this time.
