I'm doing all of my own flowers and I'm trying to stay under a $110. I'm getting married in jamaica and returning for a reception. my wedding colors are cream and aqua/turquiosey blue. i am in love with orange and hot pink flowers! do you think those two colors would look good for my center pieces at my reception? my table clothes are the blue color. here is where i am buying them.

what mix still within my budget do you think would look best?

  1. Your looking for flowers for the table right?

I don't know if you're aware but Alstroemeria lilies are pretty small, Also, a lot a people are allergic to lilies.

I really like the Gerbera daisies. they are fairly large, don't smell, and while the colors are beautiful they aren't so overpowering.

Whatever you choose, remeber that orange and purple go especially well with your colors.

Also remember that you have to be happy. No one else really matters! :)

  2. Your best bet would be to go to a local florist and get carnations in the colors you want.  And baby's breath.  They are inexpensive and last forever and most people are not allergic to them.  Plus they will be fresh, you can even pick them up yourself.  I wouldn't go with delivered flowers, you never know if they will be on time or what condition they will be when you get them.  Three carnations with something jazzy in a special bowl or vase and you've some nice centerpieces, tied with ribbons with your colors.

    Best wishes!

  3. I like the daisies. Even the white one. If you have having blue table cloths with the pink and orange flowers I think the white will add some neutrality to all the colors going on. Not that I am saying it is too much because I think it sounds really nice actually.

The roses just aren't doing it for me especially with the colors you have chose and I am doing roses! They are classic but it seems you have a more colorful fun kind of thing going on and roses just don't fit.

I browsed through the other flowers as well and I still stand by my first choice/opinion for you. I simply think the daisies fit best and all those colors would be beautiful. It just reminds me of happiness! :)

  4. Hey those are my colours too!! I have the ladies in aqua, the men in beige with white shirt, and a beige and aqua tie. With the same color aqua from the tie, I bought hankerchiefs.

I'm planning on using blue orchids because they have a bit of aqua in them. I have looked everywhere for pics of them and can't find.

If I can't u se blue orchids, I'm doing either pink calla lilly's or pink roses. I also explored orange, but pink won.

    Goodluck!

  5. Roses are at EVERY wedding, a lot of people get sick of seeing them.  I think the daisys would bring a nice young, fresh look and will be simply beautiful at your wedding.

  6. I like the roses and the lilies.  Roses will probably be the most expensive, but they're so classic. :)  The lilies are my favorite. I used lilies too, so I'm biased. ;)  And sorry... but I don't like the last flowers at all.  They just look cheap to me.  Go with the lilies! :-D

  7. Be careful using flowers from a retailer as they have often been cut for awhile and will not last nearly as long as flowers from a florist or flower wholesaler.

Another though to keep in mind is if you would like to preserve your flowers after the wedding.  If you use a freeze drier like www.ginasfdf.com (my local freeze drier, look online for your local one) then you should contact them to see if they have any recommendations for flowers that may not preserve very well.

  8. The roses are pretty but the gerbera daisies are my favorite..they just look...happy =]
