  1. If you want to visit some of the lesser known  BUT  just Great producing  wineries , travel about  2-3 hours north of Brisbane to the Burnett River District ( use Kingaroy as a base).

Within  2 hours from there you can drive and visit  in excess of 10-12 wineries, many are  award winners  and have been  presented on shows such  " Wine Lovers  Guide to Australia  "  (SBS ) as well numerous books and articles.

As for food , many have Wonderful restaurants  attached or close by. As well as the Wonderful Kingaroy/Nambour/Kenilworth  Cheese factories.

  2. The central west in NSW - has a fabulous food and wine trail - it is much less commercial than the other more traditional areas winery areas - You can eat all the way from Sydney!

  3. There are a lot of trails like this in SA.  See previous comments.  The Adelaide Hills is another region that is gaining publicity, and is easily accessible.  Woodside, Balhannah, Hahndorf, Ashton, Piccadilly and Bridgewater are all worth a visit, with many cellar door operations and terrific local produce.  If time is limited, try the cellar bottle shop in Stirling, which does tastings of locally produced wines.  The Tapas wine bar in Stirling is also worth a visit.

Contact SA Travel for more info.

    Happy sipping!
