What food can I serve for a gang of teenagers?

Son's 18th. Lads coming round to drink in garden before night out. Don't want BBQ.

  3. Pizza, Nachos (Cheap and easy),with an assortment of toppings (chicken, steak, nacho cheese, shreddede cheese, sour cream. salsa, and lettuce, Tacos, you can make chilli, Sub sandwiches

  9. How about some decked out sandwiches? lunchmeat, onions, tomatoes etc...  maybe some roasted chicken sandwiches. Bread helps soak up the booze, so they have a chance of not getting sick.

    Give them plenty of anything and serve it all up in a trough.

  15. I'd just wait til thwy all arrive and casually suggest you'll pay for a take-away if they're hungry....if you have something laid out ready and waiting, he might be a bit embarrassed, you know what boys are like.....

  16. Do burgers in the oven or grill and serve with plenty of onions and potatoes or chips. Buy KFC in the pots and share them around. Nothing with knives and forks and plates as it is more washing up and more fiddle.

  17. How about a bunch of "make your own" bars.......... from pizza, sandwiches, and desserts.  That would be fun.  Let them make what they want and then bake it... wouldn't take long for it to bake... I know I'd have fun!

  19. Get them to make their own - that'll be great fun.

    Calzoni or pizzas good - they can all make the dough, leave it to rise so they can them make the tomato sauce and all the toppings ready - all roll their own out and make them up.

    or for an easier version buy in bases and tomato sauce

    oh - BLT's with fries are good too.

  20. Big bowls of Thai stir fry vegetables with noodles, you can make it quick, chuck in all your spare veg and you make it with red chilli peppers so they get good and hot, makes them drink and laugh like h**l!

    Thai is easy to prepare in advance,  it cooks in 10 mins and you can always do some more if others turn up later.

  25. Spaghetti With Meat Sauce

    1 tbsp oil or shortening

    1 cup chopped onions

    1 lb ground beef

    2 cloves garlic

    2/3 cup coarsely chopped green pepper

    2 cans tomatoes

    2 cans tomato paste

    1 bay leaf

    4 tsp Worcestershire sauce

    1/2 tsp pepper

    2 tsp sugar

    16 ox Spaghetti, uncooked

    Parmesan cheese

    In a heavy, deep pan, heat oil and in it lightly brown onions.  Ad meat, cook thoroughly.  Drain.  Add minced garlic, green pepper, tomatoes, tomato past, spices and seasonings.  cook covered over low heat, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally and adding a little water if needed.  Remove bay leaf and add extra salt if necessary.  Cook Spaghetti according to package directions;  drain.  Serve hot sauce over hot spaghetti.  Garnish with Parmesan cheese.
