  1. back in that time frame most people caught and cooked thier own food.  small game such as rabbits squirles and were most common.

  2. i think stuff back then was cheap like ten cents for a bag of potatoes..........awesome!

but i think they ate alot of fish potatoes , beef stew,

    just look it up but

    good .......luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. depends on where you live..  in america the food wasnt too far off.. they didnt have all of this high frutose c**p. I remember my mom said she would snack on raw hot dogs as a kid in the 60s-70s look in a betty crocker cookbook (online) based in the time period.

  4. You could find a lot of differences just between what part of the country people lived in.  For example, coastal populations would have had a lot more seafood in their diet than folks living in say Kentucky.

Take a look at some of the historical areas like Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Mass www.osv.org or at www.sturbridge.org to see a lot of ideas there.  Also, check out an Evening at the Colonial Kitchen at the c**k & Bull Restaurant at the Peddler's Village in Lahaska, PA www.peddlersvillage.com for some more thoughts.

You'll get some ideas from the food they offer in their restaurants and what they sell in their gift shops.

  5. they ate what they had and did not coast a lot!

  6. All of the food back then would be very very basic and seasonal.  They had very few spices.

You should try googling stuff like the founding father's favorite foods.  George Washington was supposed to like cherry pie!
