  1. Icewater/juice + staple american dishes like "sunday roast" , mashed potatoes, stew, ect.

Since converting, our family has taken the traditional stuff from thanksgivings/christmas and moved them over to ramadan and eid. It's also nice to be able to pass some of the same traditions down to our kids (making gingerbread men, pumpkin pie and spiced apple cider) but saving them for the appropriate Islamic occasions.

  2. really light foods, like soup or salad. Maybe some rice, but nothing too heavy.

  3. When it's time to break fast during Ramadan, I think it's best to eat natural, healthy foods and avoid fried, junky type foods.  Also, before I actually eat in Ramadan, I drink one full glass of water.  It helps.

  4. Um.............every thing is fun after the long day's hunger a and wait...

but I love Phirkis......they are something made just in our failies....its like eggrolls but not exactly....made spinach or mashed potatoes inside!

They are so special...I am looking forward to them alot alot!

  5. date, pakoda. but only after iftar.

  6. Ham sandwiches with a couple of beers(tennets extra)

  8. Mainly healthy stuff. I start off with dates and water. If I'm feeling sick or little dizzy etc then ginger with honey.

  13. Well Ramadan is great. The time you realise how poor people feel when they are starving. No fiighting, sneaking or curses. You pray to our true Lord, Allah. And we eat the food He has provided us. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) favourite food is dates. I also like dates as well. I eat fruits like water melon a lot. Then I eat my local food Allah has provided. I can't wait for Ramadan again. Its nearly coming!!!!
