  1. I just bought some Spanish Blue Cheese (in the States, but still, I was assured this was how it was supposed to be.)

Now, I love all things Spanish.  And I had never met a cheese I didn't like, so I thought, okay, I'll spend the (fortune they charge for imported cheeses at my grocery store) and I almost gagged!!!!  I LOVE cheese, and this stuff just tasted like bad mold.   I believe it came from Extremadura, but I won't be buying that again soon.

Oh. I take exception to Sean Fs description of the paella.  It is NOT made with Uncle Ben's...it comes out of a box, premixed, all ingredients in it (except, maybe the meat/seafood).  I got to the bar early one morning for my coffee and saw them delivering it...What a disappointment!  I learned to ask if it was "casera" (house made) or "de caja" (from a box).  You can sort of tell by how the menu is displayed.  Don't expect fresh in places like Plaza Mayor in Madrid.  That was where I was.  (It still tasted okay, before I knew).

  2. Sometimes in coastal towns they will serve up not so fresh sardines that have been grilled to eternity which are not good, also some Tortilla Espagnol can be a little runny.  Some Patatas Bravas are just tinned boiled potatoes that have been deep fried and then have a tin of tinned tomatoes poured over them with no spice whatsoever.  Most Paella are not real paella and are no doubt cooked with Uncle Ben's microwave rice etc.  I love Spanish food and eating bad Spanish food is really annoying.  Gambas that are just the frozen minuscule sort that when fried come out as horrid chewy masses in sickly garlicky vegetable oil.

  3. That depends on what people like and don't like to eat.   Whether you eat kosher or not.   Pork is definitely not kosher.

  4. Pork is not kosher.

  5. Most meat foods.  I like vegetarian and seafood much better.

  6. Most foods in Spain are great!!!  I just don't eat the pork foods.

  7. I have never been fond of goat.  ...and I don't care for it in Mexico, the US, or the meiddle east, either...

  8. Have you ever been there? Whoa......Whatever!
