What food is good to eat at a swim meet?

  1. First off...NOTHING HEAVY!!!!! NO EGGS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. U WILL GET SICK!! ( I KNOW!! BEEN THERE DONE THAT!) Something HIGH in carbs. ( raisin brand.....) Drink gatorade. ( not too much though!) Good luck! :)


  2. At a swim meet, try to eat before your meet, and when your not swimming for about an hour between events then eat, but i would suggest not eating anything when events are back to back.

    But to eat, i would definately suggest a banana, i think that would be best, becuase its full of potasium. Also any sort of fruit like grapes or an apple would be good. Other than fruits i suggest any of the protein bars like Power bars, sports beans, ect.

    I wouldnt eat anything sugary for sure, and nothing with to many carbs. Carbs are good to build up on 3-4 days before a meet but not during.

  3. I'm not 100% sure, but I would eat like eggies and like a little snack. Then after your swim meet, get a real meal to eat.

    u can get them at wegmans or target

    there are all kinds,

    for drinks, you probably want propel, gatorade, or water.

    fruits are good to eats as well,

    grapes, peaches, blue berries

    eat a good breakfast before hand and then go to the pool

    don't eat a lot right before a race

The good to eat at meets are carbs (granola bar, bagel, fruits, etc) so you are never hungry.  A good routine to get into is race, swim down, talk to your coach and then eat.  You definitely don't want to overload on the eating just keep something in your stomach so when you are up to race you have an easy fuel source to tap into and do your best.  A little gatorade or such is good to wash it down with but again, don't over do it!

  6. It's important to eat something that has the perfect combination of complex sugars, and water.  As a gymnast for 14 years, I had to learn which health foods would help most.  The Sam's Club mix with dried apricots is a good idea.  Make sure that the mix you get doesn't have salt though.  If the mix does turns out to have salt, you can get a small pack of dried apricots.  I got some from Wal Mart in the produce section.  Also, nectarines are perfect too.
