Question:

What food is "nature's multivitamin"?

I'm looking for foods that are vitamin/mineral dense and calorie light. My votes: acerola cherry (loaded with vit C), bee pollen ( loaded with other vitamins, nori (minerals). I hesitate with the bee pollen because it includes bee spit, and the kelp because it has trace amounts of other marine organisims. I'm thinking there are probably some herbs and spices that would be good but don't know what ones. What do you think?

  1. My vote is for lentils, a good source of protein, iron, fiber, molybdenum, folic acid, tryptophan, manganese, phosphorous, copper, B1, B3, and potassium.

Also in the running would be broccoli, a source of protein, calcium, vitamin A, vitamin C, fiber, folic acid, antioxidents and phytochemicals.

  2. Many fruits and veg's are rich in nature vitamins, citrus fruits green leafy veg's,carrots, apples etc Better for you fresh than canned

  3. Try chia seed (also known as salba)

It has loads of fibre, lots of protein, omega-3, 18 amino acids, more iron than spinach, more calcium than a glass of milk, 15x more magnesium than broccoli.

(chia seed and salba are exactly the same btw [salvia hispanica], and black and white seed are exactly the same nutrition wise, regardless what the "salba" people say)

  4. I would say that it qas anything coming out of a beehive especially Honey it has nutritional and healing qualities. lol

  5. Look into sprouts. They are generally nutrient dense, but low in calories. Besides vitamins, they are have food enzymes which play an important role in digesting food properly. If your body can't digest it, you don't get the full benefit!
