  1. Breads, Pastas, Tomatos, Garlic

  2. Bread.... Veal..... olive oil.... and Wine. That's the offical 4 food groups of italy

  3. They eat pasta like the chinese eat rice. Then there is bread, cheese, fish, olives, wine.

  4. It will be Pasta. It is eaten daily.

  5. depends on the origin... pastas of course.. but belive it or not a lot of couscous.. which is actually an arab dish that was brought over during one of the eras of divide and conquer.. a lot of meats.. fish.. and herbs

  6. flours.. regular wheat and corn ....bread, pizza, pasta, dry cookies    I live in Italy, and am also a chef

    second.. wine!!!!!!!

  7. I'm going to guess tomato

  8. hmmmm, i would say anything starchy, breads, pasta and alot of salads

  9. The food I can't do without is fresh fruit - I have fruit at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and often as a snack; and in summer when it's hot I can live on fruit only - apart from the occasional ice-cream ;)

Bread almost always, vegetables at least once a day but usually twice, cheese or fish very often. I'm not that keen on pasta (I actually prefer rice or cous cous - once or twice a week), but that is really uncommon for Italians. About once a week gelato or pizza as lunch.

I don't like meat very much.

Water or plain tea (but the last would be coffee for most Italians), sometimes wine (festive occasions), very little soft drinks.

It's worth nothing that Italy and Spain tend to favor orange (and other citrus fruit) soft drinks over cola; when I was a child it was common to add a slice of lemon in order to make cola "taste right".

  10. the answer is...it depends on where they live...each region has its own distinct cuisine and resources for food

  11. farina      "flour" to make pasta

  12. there were protests recently when the price of pasta was raised (in italy). that would be my vote.

my 83 yr old landlord was about to disown me, when we'd all gone to dinner and i didn't eat a pasta course. and we had two pasta courses at my friend's wedding!

i think i will go make some pasta now...

    tomatoes

    cheese

    wine

  14. I heard on FoodNetwork that Italians use a lot of nuts and dry fruit for their salads and cakes.

Another thing I think they have with all their meals is cheese.
