I have a disorder that causes my stomach to be VERY loud and rumbly, not your average tummy noises, much worse, it's humiliating in class, at work in meetings etc... I keep hearing a long list of foods to avoid and a lot of them are obvious, but what I need to know is which foods are better to eat for people who have this condition. I have an appt. with a specialist soon but in the meanwhile need some urgent help. Serious responses only please. I'm on prescription meds too and do get sporadic inconsistent relief from them, but I need to figure out which foods are making it worse and which ones are generally better for me to eat.

  1. This depends on what your issue is.  Gas, fat digestion, starch breakdown, etc.

You should already have *some* experience in what food triggers your stomach.  Providing some info as to what you have found some far will perhaps give people the ability to provide more focused tips.

(Including the name of the medication that gives you sporadic relief).

To help figured out what foods it is, I would strongly recommend you make a list of what you eat, including if that type of food has a high amount of fat, or is starchy.

You may find that it's dairy, or fatty foods (including foods that have been cooked in fat or oil).  You may find that it's just starchy foods - potatoes, beans, etc.

It also may have nothing to do with the foods themselves, but a physical condition.

  2. Eat fruit vegitables, bread. whole weats. stay away from spicy foods. hah yum:)
