Question:

What foods are not loaded with calories in an Indian restaurant?

I LOVE to go out for Indian food, we have some really great places here in NYC. But I know a lot of the dishes are loaded with calories (such as chicken tikka masala). What foods would you recommend that would not be so bad for you off the menu?

And how about breads? I know nan isn't very healthy.

  2. whole wheat parathas ; side dishes without butter ; avoid fried appetizers

  3. all the vegatarian dishes and water

  4. You may go for dosas and sambhar, also uttapams... South Indian food, that is... low in cal, and its yummy!!!

    In north indian, yeah, chapatis with dal is low in calories but not such fancy restaurant foods...

    So, stay in shape!

  5. Capati is healthy because it is not made with oil.

  6. Try the vegetarian meals instead. Roti is okay for you.
