  1. I was told that eating processed lunch meats and shmears like Pate or anything made with liver can exacerbate or even cause gout...

I'm not sure what to eat to stop it... But avoiding most types of "Deli Foods" should help you not have the flair up's in the first place.

  2. Cherries and cherry juice.

    cellery and cellery juice.

    Avoid red meat and soda

  4. It is easier to avoid gout by NOT eating high protein foods  like  all meats, nuts and beans.  Also reduce the use of nightshade vegetables (tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, potatoes and tobacco) because these will aggravate the symptoms of gout.

Drink a about 3 quarts of WATER every day, to flush out your system.

  5. Avoid anything that has purine (google for those foods), alcohol and red meat (fish is OK, chicken if range-fed).  The cherry and celery juices are a great idea.  Lots of water, no soda (the phosphate metabolites settle in joints) and no grilled or charred food.

  6. Cherries help to metabolize Uric Acid quite well, so we have a lot of customers that have told me they take it for gout. Also, Celery Seed is supposed to help a bit. If you took it on a regular basis, it should help to keep the Uric Acid down quite nicely. Good luck!
