  1. Well... here is one way... buy lots of fruits and vegetables! You must eat 3 meals a day. If you get hungry in between meals its ok just look up for healthy snacks online. Like carrots and celery with a light dressing. Did you know if you dont eat lunch or breakfast or dinner you could gain weight! So thats why u should balance your meals. You could only have dessert once a week. And that should be a frozen yogurt like from costco.

Hope you like wat i have!

  2. the easiest way to try and start a healthy life style is to slowly change.

the first thing to do is cut down on all packaged food. no packaged food is healthy so try and buy uncooked meats and make them yourselves, or buy broiled instead of fried. just easy stuff like that.

    good luck.

  3. any type of fruit that you like and maybe even special K for breakfast. yogurt....anything like that

    NO JUNK FOOD!!

  4. Wow, it's good to hear that you're making a big change in your life!

Stuff your fridge with items like:

    a) low-fat yogurts

    b) green or red apples and oranges (they're real cheap), organically    grown would be even better!

    c) salad leaves ( there are so many of them! and cos lettuces is pretty cheap)

    d) carrots and celery

    e) some chicken b*****s or turkey breast would be great

    f) berries! blueberries are perfecto!

    g) tofu

    h) salmon

    g) some chinese kailan or bok choi for wok-frying

    h) soy milk

    For some other non-chilled items:

    a) dried raisins and dried fruits

    b) Oats (good fibre and great for your heart!)

    c) wholemeal bread (u can have them with fruit jams)

    d) canned beans (make sure u wash away the salt solution)

    e) extra virgin Olive oil

    g) green tea for it's antioxidant!

    Good Luck!

  5. Fruits and vegetables in season are the best out of season expensive so buy frozen. Frozen foods are good too as they have less sodium than canned. Anything that is processed is not that good to eat-like hot dogs, lunch meats, most frozen foods like TV dinners unless they are healthy. You can buy canned fruit or in plastic containers to take with you. Watch the sugar and sodium in foods too. Eat a balanced diet, meat, milk, veggies, fruit and whole grains too. Good luck.

  6. To keep your fridge stocked with inexpensive fruits and veggies you should do the following;

    1) Buy what's in season.  For example, Cherries are cheaper in the season.

    2) Buy a variety of colours: red bell peppers, green beans and lettuces, yellow squash

    3) If you can't afford organic, don't sweat it!  Just wash your produce really well before you eat it - especially the outsides of watermelon and cantaloupe.

In order to avoid wasting your purchaes, take some time before you shop to plan a few meals, then pick up what you need.  Each week, change it up and try something new.  You can do quick and easy searches on line at places like www.allrecipes.com.  Healthy cooking and eating does not have to be expensive or time consuming.  Best of luck!

  8. Well, try to buy the crunchier vegetables like carrots and celery because with vegetables like that you actually burn calories while you eat them so it's way more healthy than other vegetables. Tomatoes, of course, because they have good nutrients that can prevent cancer. Kiwis are also full of vitamins and are probably one of the best fruits for you. Not many people know that. However, you shouldn't load up on fruits or vegetables either. They all have natural sugars that are generally good for you, but when eaten in bulk can be just as bad as artificial sugars.

The healthiest of all is lettuce. You can eat as much lettuce as your heart desires. It is basically water as a vegetable.

  9. Well darkest green veggies and the deepest colored veggies are the best for you. Canned foods are not really good for you with all the preservatives and dyes in there, fresh is better an tastes better.

When you buy produce always pick the deepest colored greens, broccoli, asparagus, beets, strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes, carrots, they are highest in antioxidants. Cottage cheese(low-fat), real cheese n walnuts are good for you too.

As for meat, turkey(cutlets), chicken breast, fish is the best for you to.

Here is a list of 14 superfoods, if you could stick to these you'd be on the healthy road.

Oats: A sure-fire way to lower your cholesterol.

Wild salmon: A guaranteed way to lower your risk for cardiac-related death.

  10. Follow this: No white starchy foods (use brown rice or wheat flower instead of white), no fried foods, no transfat (like candy, chips, and soda), and limit the alcohol intake.  Try to eat only fruit and drink water before 12 noon, lunch mix a green salad and have a Smart One or other low-fat/cal lunch, dinner should be veges and non-fried foods. You should always snack on fruit between meals to keep from getting hungry.  I lost 40lbs so far using this method.  Just keep fruit in your fridge for those snacking binges.  If you live in California then Trader Joe's has a variety of low cal/sodium snacks.

  11. If you try to do a sudden change it will likely be difficult and you will end up binge eating. You should start buy adding fruits and vegetables to your meals slowly, like a salad with your chicken nuggets and a banana with your fruit loops. Then look for recipes with lots of flavor, and cook meats and whole grains. Buy whole grain cereals, and try to buy a variety of fruits and vegetables. Taking an hour or so a week to pre chop veggis and fruits might be helpful also, as it ends up seeming like too much work if you are used to quick and easy options.

  12. I just started doing the same thing!  Good to know I'm not alone... You can pretty much go nuts in the produce section, get lots of colors, that's the main thing.  a cool piece of info about celery is that it has negative calories, meaning that you burn more calories eating it then you take in.  Also, when you buy bread look at the ingredients.  the first one listed should be Whole wheat flour.  enriched is bad.  lean meat like fish and chicken is good, extra points if it's boneless skinless chicken breast!  i have a crazy sweet tooth, so if you do too you should totally try the sugar free chocolate pudding.  everyone at work was like, ew, but then they tried a taste and now they all buy it.  you can't tell the difference.  And lastly, for recipe ideas that are actually good and healthy, add hungry girl to your yahoo page.  it's under add content or something.  i use it all the time since i added it.  i actually got full off their recipe for veggie omelette and french toast... that's saying something.  and for 340 calories!
