  2. irish runner is right there is no magical stamina enhancing food that will improve you you have to train and put on a mileage base...but the longest lasting energy foods are those high in complex carbs for instance pasta and whole grain breads and cereals...these are especially handy to eat the night before your race as their energy continues to fuel you throughout the next day

if you are looking for a good summer training program i can save you the trouble of asking another ?...i have an extremely effective program for summer that made my time in a 5k drop by 3 min and i still feel great throughout the race(until i start really pushing the last third of the race to finish well)  the program has you run 6-7 days a week and can be used from the most novice of runers to the most seasoned veteran...it is a summer long program and is contained in a set of word docs so ican't post 'em here but i'd be happy to email them to you...if you're intrested contact me through my answers page

  3. to build up your stamina you have to train regularly, no food will help you there. However, after a workout, eat pasta and other carbs. Try to stay away from fatty fried foods and lots of sugar.

  4. eating certain foods won't give you more stamina, just like eating certain foods won't make you faster. all food does is give you energy for you body. there are no magical foods that do special things.

if you want to get your stamina up you need to do training, doing work is the only way to get better, there is no easy way out. start going running for a prolonged period of time a few times a week. like run 30-45 minutes every other day and then week by week as you start to feel stronger either run for more time or run more often in the week. trust me this is the only way.

  5. Eat lots of pasta and bread and cereals with complex carbohydrates like they were saying up there. It gives you more sustained energy.
