  1. beer , chips and slimjims they were our food of choice back in the day

  2. chips

  3. Is this dorm room for freshmen (no kitchen, but you can bring a small fridge and a microwave) or for upperclassmen (have kitchen)?

Most likely you're asking for the first type of dorm room, then you don't need to make big meals because you'll be eating at the dining hall. But stack up some:

    - cereals and milk

    - bread and your choice of jelly/nutella/peanut butter/cheese

    - Odwalla bars (they're yummy)

    - Sodas + Water

    - Microwavable instant oatmeal, mac and cheese, pop corn

    - Microwavable instant soup

Don't worry if you're getting a sweet tooth (or salty tooth) at night, every dorm building should have at least 1 vending machine. If you missed dinner time at the dining hall, there will be plenty delivery/take-out places you can order your food until late at night.

But if you're going to live in the dorm with a kitchen .. then you're pretty much can cook anything you want. But just for suggestions for easy meal/cooking (other than the ones I've mentioned above):

    - Pasta

    - Sauces

    - Ramen noodles

    - Instant Rice (Zatarain's)

    - Fruits

    - Canned Food

  4. Are you allowed to cook ???

Rice A  Roni ,,Pasta Roni,, Mac & Cheese

    One pot _ pan meals

And if you have a small freezer Banquet Meals

    I like Salisbury and Turkey

But you must add a Tablespoon of potato buds or flakes to thicken the potatoes..

I also add a pad of butter to the corn or the peas

I did Stoufers lasagna cut into 12 cubes and then individually into sandwich bags and then 4 each in zip lock

  5. Ramen Noodles/cup o' noodles. I would also keep peanut butter and crackers (bread can get moldy). I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE popcorn. Surprisingly if you have a microwave get some potatoes. It was an easy quick meal. Potatoes don't need to be refrigerated!

  6. Lots of canned food: canned vegetables (corn, peas carrots, potatoes, veg-all, greenbeans...etc), canned meats (ham, turkey, chicken, tuna)

fruits (fruit salads, canned peaches, pears, mangoes, etc)

    potatoes

    carrots

    zucchini

    cucumbers

    sugar

    flour

    coffee

    cornmeal

    vinegar

    salt & pepper

    rice

    boxed taters, mac n cheese

    cheese

    milk

    yogurt

  7. I always kept things that didnt go bad.  Soup, gold fish, pop,  granola bars.

Things with pop tops are always good,
