What foods should you NOT give a Jack Russell mix (8 pounds)?

umm not sure, but purina alpo is the best, my german shepherd has been on it since he was a pup, he is now 15 years old!

You shouldn't give him human foods as animals have different nutritional requirements than humans so need a diet with higher levels of proteins and trace minerals not available in sufficient quantity from what you would eat.  

I suggest you go with a top of the line food as your dog is so small the food cost will barely dent your budget and it's important you don't have the concern that the food will be recalled after your pet has become ill or died.

I only buy pet food from PetCo so don't know if this brand is available from PetSmart or other pet food stores - you'll need to check yellow pages.
