  1. I agree with the first poster about hot dogs and marshmallows, and would also like to add grapes to that list.  They present quite a choking hazard, unless you cut them up small.     Anything containing "high fructose corn syrup" is not good either, because it turns off their appetite control "button," and makes them not realize when they are full.    This ingredient is very common in junk food and juice boxes.  Be sure to read labels, and stick with juices that are 100% juice with no additives.

  2. the only thing my ped told me not to feed my kids were nuts, strawberries, and honey, and peanut butter.  other than that they can eat what there little hearts desire.  the nuts cause they can't chew them small enough and they might choke, the strawberries cause they might have an allergic reaction to them, peanut butter cause there's to much fat and sugar in it, and honey cause it's to sticky and then might choke on it.

  3. at 2 your child can eat everything now.  nuts are the last thing to hold off on, and I'm told they can start having those at 2.  Only thing you should not give your 2 year old is things you have found that he/she is already allergic too (and the why is obvious)  if the child has had no food allergies, than you don't have to worry about anything.

  4. A two year old should not be given the outside fast foods as they contain the sauces like vinegar which are harmful

they shud be given homemade food for the next 2-4 years

After that 4 years they will have a resistance power to fight the outside foods,at that time its ok to give outside eatables

  5. stay away from hotdogs and marshmallows.

    they can choke.

My daughter choked on a hotdog at 10 yrs old even.

Scary stuff, and its proven that these two items are dangerous.

  6. Phal curries and habanaro chillies for a start.

  7. My 2 1/2 year old (has food allergies) eats oatmeal for breakfast, soup, spagetti, hot dogs, soy yogurt, apples, bananas, peaches, oranges, potatoes, beans, peas, black beans and rice.

I think that what a toddler eats depends on what they will eat, I think that you should offer new foods so they always have something new to try but also something that they will eat so they are not always hungry

  8. Unless he has allergies, the only risk foods are choking hazards: Avoid/be VERY cautious with popcorn, whole nuts, hard raw veggies, hard candies etc.

Go very easy on junk (fast food, deep fried stuff, sweets, pop), and on mercury containing fish. (Tuna, swordfish, etc. -- you can find lists on-line.)

Of course if he has allergies, avoid foods he's allergic to, and talk to an allergist about the safe time to introduce other high risk foods (peanuts, tree-nuts, shellfish, etc.)

  9. I think at 2, there may not be any limits, except for maybe shellfish. ( i have not idea when they are able to eat shell fish) (but tuna, fish sticks are ok).  My daughter is 20 months today, and she eats everything, she has even eaten foods that they say they shouldn't, peanut butter, strawberries. (She loves toast and pb)

I know shellfish is a no no because of allergies and it can be deadly.

  10. I think a 2 year can eat just about anything.  You should stay away from round foods such as grapes, unless you cut them in half.  I'm also scared to give my daughter (2 1/2)  raisins, but that's just me.  (Besides, she probably wouldn't eat them).   She's also just recently allergic to fish sticks, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it to your child.
