The first part says that "Force is Newton (N), which the energy required to accelerae 1 kg for 1 m per second per second (replaces foot pounds).

What the heck? I'm really not sure how to solve this. I'm not really interested in the answer, but more so how to get the answer. Thanks

  1. I'm pretty sure it says 1 N = 1g/ms^2, not kg.  Thus the answer is 5000 N.

  2. Force = mass x Acceleration
