  1. ICELAND!!! LOL KIDDING!

    THAILAND THE CHEAPEST I'VE BEEN

  2. I was talking to someone that travels frequently just yesterday and they were telling me that to get the best rate of exchange on your money use an ATM card in that country. Many places will exchange your money but the ATM tended to be a little more close to proper currency rates. They also said that you can make arrangements with your bank to raise the maximum withdrawal limit for the time period needed. But they also said the off the mainstream vendors love to get U.S. dollars.

  3. india, goa, mautrius use ruppeess

  4. any 3rd world or developing country

  5. I don't know where you are starting from, but there are many good travel agents in Amsterdam, and that is a great city, though not cheap.  You might be able to spend a day or two there, then go on.  Turkey is particularly interesting and not too expensive.

To get some idea of what is available look at  <>http://www.d-reizen.nl/>   -  it is in Dutch but easy to figure out, and if you call them everybody speaks English and they are very helpful.

  6. Thailand is extremly cheap, and one of my favorrites, but the plane tickets are rather pricey if you are flying from the states.

  7. Try Vietnam. Even though I went there about nine years ago, it's still very cheap today. You can be set up in a 4 star hotel for around $60. And it's not just the hotels, it's just about everything there is cheap. I went to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), which is probably the most expensive city in Vietnam, and it is still an incredible bargain. And if you could make friends with one of the locals, have him or her shop for you. They will be able to get things being sold on the streets at a fair market price (they usually charge foreigners at a higher price). This usually doesn't apply to restaurants or entertainment places. And this place can literally give you more bang for you buck, if your looking for some tail.

  8. thailand is cheap, you can get a meal for around 300baht

    thats about .90c (AUS)

  9. I travelled through most of Asia on a shoestring over a period of 4 years. You must haggle the price of everything....it may be mere pennies, but over time you will save $$$.

India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh......easy hitching, cheap trains, accommodation is very cheap if you don't mind staying in a shed. Better still, walk into a village at 6pm and go to a shop.....do the sleep sign and hey presto; free food and room with a local.

South East Asia is very cheap. Thailand and Vietnam are much more expensive than Cambodia and Laos......but you can stay with the locals in villages.

Try not to fly, just overground it....visas can always be picked up on the borders.

My final tip is to haggle and haggle again. If you've been on the road for a few months and can't take sleeping rough anymore, you may want to check into a nice hotel.....ask for a discount....just say "di-count, discount" you should get between 40-60% off the stated price.

Think about working as an English teacher when you get to Thailand. You'll get free meals and board...plus a minimum 0f $500 per month on top and an experience you'll never forget. Don't worry if you don't have a degree.....just buy a "replacement" online

    Hope it helps
